Fishtank Ensemble is the brainchild of no one, the serendipitous reunion of six gifted and misfit musicians who barely knew each other and touched people so much with the music they created that they had no choice but to form a band. It is impossible to put into words but is as sweet and mesmerizing as drinking too much wine.There is accordion, there is opera and jazz and folk singing, not one but two violins, banjolele, upright slap bass, flamenco and gypsy jazz guitar, and last but not least, a mysterious japanese instrument called the shamisen.Put it all together and you have one helluva show.

Fishtank Ensemble is creating the music that they feels needs to exist, and for an unlikely amalgam of instruments. What is it? Even they can't tell you, but they'll play it for you and you will swoon. From a dark and croony gypsy jazz song sung in Manouche, to a flamenco attempted ( as never before) on all instruments, to a wild Transylvanian gypsy anthem, and to a flamboyantly creative Serbian song taught to Fabrice by Kocani Orkestar " when they were passing through" when he worked in the traveling Italian circus all those years ago, Fishtank Ensemble never fails to thrill.
