Michelle Brick Music
www.michellebrickmusic.com Michelle began her musical journey at the tender age of eight years old, taking up the flute and piano. She was extremely fortunate to have wonderful music educators in her life that encouraged and inspired her to achieve. They, along with her parents, helped her to realize her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. After graduating high school, Michelle attended the prestigious College of New Jersey’s music program where she earned a BM in music education, with an emphasis on flute performance. After completing her undergraduate studies, Michelle began working as a music educator for the school district of Summit, New Jersey. Michelle currently works as an instrumental music teacher and maintains an active music studio teaching piano, flute and saxophone. Soon after becoming an educator, Michelle’s passion for music and learning drove her back to school to earn her MA in flute performance. She studied at Montclair State University’s Cali School of Music where she had the privilege of studying with Peggy Schecter, founder of the New Jersey Chamber Music Society and Susan Palma-Nidel, principal flutist of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Although a classical player by trade, Michelle’s interest in different genres of music led her to study latin, jazz and world music. Michelle has had the honor and pleasure of studying with world-renowned Venezuelan flutist, Marco Granados and the jazz clarinetist and choro musician, Anat Cohen. As a performer she has performed as a soloist and in ensembles throughout the United States and England. Michelle’s true passion for music has always been in chamber music. Chamber music provides the opportunity for small ensembles to perform together intimately to create unique and meaningful performances. Michelle and her ensembles’ repertoire include music ranging from Classical, Latin, Celtic, Jazz, Pop and Broadway. Whatever style of music and ensemble you are looking for, Michelle will ensure that the music is customized to fit your exact needs. Her ensembles have played weddings, ceremonies, receptions, gallery events, wine tastings, concerts and private parties.
